Distinctive Elements Combine for a Stunning Restoration
This pretty yet practical corner houses the refrigerator & a collection of cookbooks.
Borrowed space from a half bath recess allowed us to restore the nook.
The stairwell was opened & we added a new banister.
The attic is now office & media space. We exposed collar ties, added skylights & partial walls for privacy.
Full inset, quartersawn oak cabinets with iron bin pulls are topped with Broughton Moor slate.
KITCHEN & NOOK
This beautiful space introduces many finishes in a quiet & classic combination. Butcher block, Carrara marble & soapstone counters identify the different work areas. The quarter sawn lower cabinets with their iron bin pulls introduce elements elsewhere on the first floor. The upper cabinets are refurbished orginials. An antique church bench was shortened to fit the space in the nook.
STAIRS & ATTIC
The narrow dark stairs & small attic were re-designed & are now open, light & add drama to the space that the client can enjoy for quiet time or to get work done at the new custom desks behind the half walls.
